Completing a Functional Behavior Assessment to Determine Effective Interventions for Challenging Behavior (3-Part, In-Person Series at Napa County SELPA).
In this series, participants will increase their skill in completing a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) that leads to effective identification of replacement behavior and appropriate intervention.

This training will be presented in-person at the Napa County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Office.

Dates
- Wed, Sept 28 (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm) - Data Collection for Analysis (Part 1)
Tools and methods will be introduced that allow for effective, time-efficient and appropriate data collection of challenging behaviors that occur within the educational setting. - Mon, Oct 24 (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm) - Determining the Function (Part 2)
Use collected data to determine a hypothesis for why problem behavior is occurring. The session will discuss how to analyze data to determine the function, especially when there are multiple contributing factors impacting the behavior. - Mon, Dec 19 (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm) - Designing Function Driven Replacement Behaviors and Putting It All Together (Part 3)
Learn how to use the information gathered through a functional assessment to effectively identify appropriate replacement behaviors. This training will also review examples of how to write a defensible and accessible FBA report.
