Elementary Math Instructional Strategies

In this training, participants will learn various ways to teach and display math vocabulary words and explore how to engage students by creating classroom transformations.

Looking for engaging teaching strategies to use during your math lessons? This training is full of strategies to use in the classroom during math lessons that will get students moving around, actively participating, and having FUN! In this training we will discuss various ways to teach math vocabulary, skip counting, math facts, math word walls, and much more.

Intended Audience

Participants Will

  • Learn various ways to teach and display math vocabulary words
  • Address the importance of skip counting for multiplication and division and learn some fun chants/raps that can be used with skip counting
  • Discuss various ways to incorporate movement into math lessons
  • Examine various ways to practice math facts (beyond flash cards)
  • Explore how to engage students by creating classroom transformations
  • Have access to various resources on the Padlet
