Why is This Training Important?

Students with disabilities are entitled to participate in public education programs.  Careful identification and program planning is critical to ensure that students with disabilities are provided equal access, not only to educational programs but to those extracurricular activities their non-disabled peers enjoy.  Parents and educators should be familiar with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and its mandates.
